AHRC New York City is seeking a Residential Coordinator (RC) to oversee multiple group home residences in the Bronx. The Residential Coordinator directs and coordinates the continuous operation of all residential management systems and the individualized program planning process within a designated region. The RC supervises and trains managers and regional staff in the implementation of management systems. The RC will also coordinate the activities of the interdisciplinary team within their designated region and conduct periodic reviews of all management systems for the assistant director and directly managing facilities/programs during periods of vacancy or absence of regularly assigned managers.
Salary : $66,000 - $72,000 per year plus a very generous and comprehensive Benefit package. See Benefit information below.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
* Directly supervise non-nursing clinical and consultant team members with the assigned region. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Ensure ongoing compliance and quality assurance with State and Federal regulations applicable to the operation of all facilities and programs to which he/she is assigned.
Ensure that programmatic needs are met through the coordination and supervision of the interdisciplinary team process.
Ensure the coordination of services for individuals being serviced under the Home and Community Based Services Waiver.
Oversee the quality and ensures the provision of training in all areas for staff under his/her jurisdiction as per departmental policy. Reviews and provides training and support in the administration of management systems and procedures, SCIP techniques and related behavior management areas; the interdisciplinary process; documentation systems for all program models; individualized habilitation programs for all program participants within the region and all other mandated training areas.
Provide managerial oversight and coverage during times of vacancy or absence of regular management staff, as assigned by the assistant director.
Provide supervision and direction to non-medical clinical and consultant staff, and/or ensures the coordination of all medical clinical and consultant staff, assigned to the facilities under his/her jurisdiction.
Interprets Agency and Departmental policies, procedures and safety regulations for all staff under his/her jurisdiction.
Initiates or suggests plans to motivate staff to achieve program goals.
Regularly performs activities of staff supervised.
Assists in the development of new residential facilities, including physical plant, admission/discharge and setting up administrative systems.
Conduct investigations for personnel and program participant related issues within his/her region.
*Bachelor’s degree required...Master’s degree preferred in Special Education, or related health care field preferred.
* At least two years experience in a management/supervisory position of a Residential group home.
*Experience managing multiple residential group homes is preferred.
* Must be knowledgeable in the field of OPWDD and possess a good understanding of OPWDD regulations.
*Must be qualified the perform the QIDP job duties..
*Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the general public.
* Must possess the ability to make independent decisions and handle stressful situations when circumstances warrant such action.
* Must have valid Tri-State or New York State driver's license for more than one year, in good standing.
