Dean's Professional Services is now hiring a qualified Research Assistant to work in Texas. (Will Travel to Schools in the Greater Houston Area, Brownsville/Harlingen, Corpus Christi, San Antonio, and Wichita Falls require overnight stays.)

The Research Assistant is responsible for collecting and recording data on research subjects, primarily in the field. Under close direction of senior research staff, you will conduct activities to support research projects.
Job Duties :
· Under close supervision, conducts research activities according to research protocol. Research activities may include some or all the following: patient recruiting and screening, traditional laboratory experiments and activities, informatics, field interviewer recruiting, screening and training and/or animal laboratories.
· May maintain clean laboratory equipment and/or work area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
· Collects, evaluates, and interprets research data to provide needed information to principal investigators and other researchers.
· Updates notebooks, records, and databases as needed.
· Stays abreast of new and updated protocols for research department.
· Orders laboratory and/or other supplies as directed by senior research staff.
· As needed, it may coordinate the work of laboratory technicians and assistants to ensure efficient, timely and high-quality results.
· Complete with all governmental and University policies, rules, regulations, and codes.
· Establish rapport with study participants to encourage complete and accurate data collection.
· Conduct fieldwork in various locations, including businesses and research sites.
· Perform data collection in environments that may include unfavorable conditions.
· Manage administrative tasks (e.g., data record-keeping, mileage reports, time/effort reports).
· Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in a related field. (Equivalent experience may substitute for education.) - Required
· General knowledge of research fields - Required
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
· CITI Training - Preferred
· REDCap experience- Preferred
· Data management skills- Preferred
· Community-based research experience (as opposed to lab research) - Preferred
· Live or video coding experience- Preferred
· Previous data collection work (paid or volunteer) - Preferred
· Experience working with teachers, children, or in community outreach- Preferred
Job Details:
· Schedule/Shift: M-F 8 AM - 5 PM, 35-40 hours per week
· Starting Pay $15/Hr. (based on experience) + benefits.
· Full benefits: healthcare, dental, vision, and 401k program.
· Required travel for Texas schools.
· Schools in the Greater Houston Area, Brownsville/Harlingen, Corpus Christi, San Antonio, and Wichita Falls require overnight stays.
· Travel expenses will be reimbursed.
· Remote position based in Houston; training is in-person before fieldwork at Texas schools for student and teacher data collection.
· Mileage reimbursement is provided.
· Training/Certification: Reliability training to be completed within the first four weeks.
· The position primarily involves data collection in early childhood settings with teachers and children
