Job Title: Financial AnalystLocation: Gastonia, NC, 3/2 hybrid, 3 days in office, 2 days remote
Length of assignment: 1 year with potential for extensionJob Description:
This position will work in a team environment and be involved in all aspects of finance including preparing budgets, forecasts and variance explanations. Finance duties also include reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting financial information including investigating variances and providing explanations to management, responding to ad hoc management requests including financial analysis and recommended operational changes. This position works closely as an advisory to our business partners and helps to act as a steward of company funds for our customers and shareholders. This position will also perform other financial responsibilities as assigned by the management team in support of the Companys long-term goals. This position will assist in responding to internal and external inquiries and data requests related to regulatory filings and other matters.
Utility experience is a plus.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Develops and leads financial analysis.
• Supports budget development and consolidation process.
• Leads the development, maintenance and analysis of financial plans, budgets and forecasts
• Communicate effectively with operational areas to understand impact of variance on financial results.
• Ensures compliance with regulations, policies & procedures; act as a liaison with various departments (General Accounting, Tax, Corporate Planning, F&BS, Operations, and Regulatory
• Conducts economic analyses and presentation preparation in support of investment decisions.
• Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
• What is the top (at least 3 if possible) must have skill sets (technical/functional) which are required?
1. Experience with financial management and analysis, utility and/or relevant industry, accounting standards and practices.
2. Demonstrated expertise in consolidated financial planning and analysis, capital allocation, project financial analysis, due diligence process, understanding of accounting, tax and financing principles.
3. Extensive knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.

Pay Range: $30.00 - $35.00 The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
