Job Description

Primary Purpose of this Position

The Dietary Aide assists in the preparation, serving, and cleanup of meals for residents, ensuring compliance with dietary restrictions, health standards, and individual preferences. This role is essential for providing a positive dining experience while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dining areas.

Duties and Responsibilities

Administrative Functions

Ensure that all food procedures are followed in accordance with established facility policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meal Preparation and Service:

    • Assist in preparing and plating meals according to the menu and dietary guidelines.
    • Serve meals to residents in a timely and courteous manner, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
  • Dietary Compliance:

    • Follow individual dietary plans, including restrictions, allergies, and preferences.
    • Ensure proper portion control and food presentation.
  • Sanitation and Safety:

    • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, dining areas, and utensils after each use.
    • Comply with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Inventory and Supplies:

    • Monitor and restock supplies as needed.
    • Assist in the proper storage of food to maintain freshness and prevent contamination.
  • Resident Interaction:

    • Communicate with residents to ensure satisfaction with meals and address any concerns.
    • Provide assistance to residents who may need help during meals.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
    • Previous experience in a food service or healthcare setting is a plus.
  • Skills:

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to dietary guidelines.
    • Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
    • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
