Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Assistant Winemaker to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will collaborate closely with the Associate Winemaker to oversee all aspects of winery operations. This is a unique opportunity for someone who has a deep technical understanding of winemaking and a passion for contributing to every stage of the winemaking process.

Key Responsibilities:

Winemaking Operations: Assist in all aspects of production, including fermentation management, barrel work, blending, bottling, and cellar tasks.

Lab Work & Analysis: Conduct and interpret lab tests to monitor wine quality, including pH, acidity, VA, and sulfur levels. Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with industry standards.

Leadership & Training: Lead and mentor team members, sharing knowledge and fostering growth within a collaborative environment.

Hands-On Support: Participate in physical tasks, such as fruit processing, cap management, forklifting, and equipment maintenance, ensuring seamless workflow in a small-team setting.

Problem Solving: Identify and address challenges with creativity and precision, maintaining the integrity of the winemaking process.

Compliance & Safety: Maintain adherence to winery regulations, safety standards, and quality control practices.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Viticulture, Enology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

3+ years of winemaking experience, with a strong understanding of wine science and production techniques.

Proficiency in lab work, including analysis of chemical and physical properties of wine.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide a team.

Hands-on approach, comfortable performing physical tasks as part of daily operations.

Passion for both the technical and artistic aspects of winemaking.

Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
