Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Armed Security Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment, ensuring the safety of personnel and property. This role requires a proactive approach to security, with an emphasis on conflict management and loss prevention. The Armed Security Officer will work in various settings, utilizing surveillance techniques and law enforcement skills to deter and respond to incidents effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor premises through regular patrols and surveillance systems, including CCTV.
  • Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies, taking appropriate action as necessary.
  • Enforce rules and regulations to maintain order and ensure the safety of all individuals on-site.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of buildings, grounds, and security equipment to identify potential security risks.
  • Provide assistance during emergencies by administering first aid or CPR when required.
  • Document incidents, accidents, or any unusual occurrences in detailed reports for management review.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies when necessary to address security concerns.
  • Participate in ongoing training programs to stay current with security protocols and practices.

Skills

  • Proven conflict management skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations effectively.
  • Certification in armed security or law enforcement is preferred.
  • Experience in loss prevention strategies and techniques.
  • Familiarity with surveillance systems, including CCTV operation and monitoring.
  • Knowledge of first aid and CPR procedures; certification is a plus.
  • Strong observational skills with attention to detail for identifying potential threats.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with diverse individuals and reporting incidents clearly.
