Job Summary

  • Maintains and repairs equipment, vehicles, and/or facilities used for carrying out the operations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assign drivers to trucks and provide accurate directions to pickup and delivery facilities
  • Build and receive purchase orders for all dispatch/trucking and equipment as needed.
  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all federal, state, local, and company safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task
  • Maintain the control board for accuracy
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Perform all other duties deemed vital or assigned
  • Provide oversight to ensure all vital labor, materials, and equipment arrive at each job site in a timely manner
  • Receive and maintain communications with crews regarding job status, problems, customer satisfaction, payment, etc.
  • Supervise daily activities of trucks and generate operational reports

Education

Minimum of 2 year's experience in dispatching construction equipment and trucks

Skills

  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Excellent digital literacy in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Excellent planning and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with truck and highway construction activities
  • Highly diligent individual with the capability to multi-task
  • Knowledge of FMSCA regulations is a plus
  • Knowledge of GPS technology
  • Must have general knowledge of highway systems
  • Strong data entry, phone and customer service skills
