Role Description
We are looking for a dedicated Scrum Master to join our dynamic software development team. This is a full-time remote position, with occasional quarterly travel to Sacramento, CA. As a Scrum Master, you will play a vital role in facilitating sprint planning, managing user stories, and organizing scrum events and ceremonies. Your leadership will help set team goals and objectives, while fostering collaboration with other teams, stakeholders, and executive leadership. You will also proactively identify and address project risks to ensure the success of our initiatives.

This role involves consulting for the Department of Healthcare Services - Behavioral Health. As the largest state, local, and education (SLED) organization in the United States, the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is recognized as one of the most technologically advanced teams within California's state government.

Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working with Agile methodology in Scrum Master roles within a development environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and best practices.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycles and concepts.
- A current Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification is required.
- Proficiency in using JIRA Agile tracking software.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of responsibility and teamwork.
- Exceptional relationship management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong technical documentation and problem-solving abilities.

Relevant experience or certifications in Project Management, Software Development, or Quality Assurance are a plus. We are seeking candidates who demonstrate the ability to work effectively with team members, stakeholders, and clients.
