Responsibilities:

The Medical Scribe is a non-licensed member of the healthcare team whose primary responsibility is accurately documenting a provider-patient encounter in real-time. This includes the history of present illness, past medical/surgical/family and social histories, review of systems, physical exam, procedures, lab and imaging results, clinical course of the patient, diagnoses, disposition, and any other information pertinent to the encounter. Secondary to charting, the medical scribe serves as a workflow navigator, assisting the healthcare provider with workflow management and coordination of ancillary services. This is a non-patient care role.

The Remote Medical Scribe fulfills the above duties while working from home. This is a concurrent and live position, meaning you'll be on a live call with the provider throughout the duration of your shift. You will witness and document on patient encounters in real-time. Because the call is live, you'll have the opportunity to ask the provider questions when clarification is needed. Calls are typically muted when not actively observing a patient encounter or when receiving clinical course updates from the in-person care team.

• You must reside in one of the following states for work from home:

  • Mississippi
  • Missouri
  • Nevada
  • Tennessee
  • Texas
• Previous dedicated medical scribe (either in-person or remote) experience required.

Other Information:

We are seeking to fill one part time position that is available to cover the following shifts on CENTRAL TIME:

- 6am to 4pm, weekdays with weekend availability

- 8am to 6pm, weekdays with weekend availability

Part time will be scheduled for 16-32 hours per week (two to three 8 or 10 hour shifts per week).

Full time will be scheduled for 30-40 hours per week (three to four 8 or 10 hour shifts per week)

An opportunity to earn additional pay is by participating in on-call coverage. While on-call, you are paid $1/hr. If called-in while on-call, you earn your standard base rate.

• Medical assistants who have assisted with documentation, even if scribe was in the title
• Ophthalmology scribes
• Medical students or healthcare practitioners without dedicated scribe experience
