As a R&D Food/Nutrition Technician, you will play a crucial role in evaluating new and existing food products and consumer goods. You will work closely with our client's R&D team to ensure product quality and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Evaluation: Assess vendor-proposed product samples for new and existing food products.
Sensory Evaluation: Coordinate product cuttings and assist in the management of the Sensory Evaluation Program.
Sample Preparation: Lead the cooking, preparing, and presenting of samples for all cuttings and code product samples.
Equipment Management: Manage test kitchen equipment, including scales and thermometers, ensuring they are calibrated regularly.
Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of test kitchen supplies and order replacements as needed.
Process Development: Develop and implement methods and procedures to improve interdepartmental communication and project monitoring.
Technical Support: Serve as a technical resource to other technical functions and departments.
Product Development Assistance: Assist Product Developers with research, data analysis, sensory results, and cutting results.
Sample Management: Manage the receiving and storage of samples in the test kitchen, including unpacking boxes and logging samples into the database.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts, Nutrition, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
At least 2 years of experience working in the consumer packaged goods industry (preferred).
Experience in product development or quality assurance (preferred).
Sensory evaluation experience and skills (a plus).
Understanding of and experience in manufacturing processes.
