Product Program Specialist:   This position  is responsible for   providing leadership and direction to implement the highest quality customer service and Girl Scout program for girls and volunteers in the product program campaigns within their assigned regions .  This role c ultivates and  maintains community support for carrying out the regional product programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage regional cross functional team collaborations to meet regional and statewide strategic objectives that are consistent with a quality program based on the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE).
  • Design regional volunteer team structures to support and manage the product programs.
  • Recruiting, screening and appointing product program volunteers.
  • Train regional staff to manage volunteer and parent questions and issues. Provide management of product program issues and conflict resolution.
  • Host, design, and train product program and other trainings as requested or required.
  • Manages key volunteer positions including cupboard managers, service unit cookie managers, cookie committee members, and other product program positions as directed. In coordination with the Product Program Manager, implements cupboard and warehouse training.
  • In coordination with regional program teams may provide staffing and direction to regional volunteer teams. Serves as the primary staff support and resource for product program issues and management that cannot be managed by a regional team.
  • Develops community relationships required to carry out product programs including but not limited to identifying media/PR opportunities, booth opportunities including managing all paperwork requirements, identifying and acquiring cupboard locations.
  • Manages product program delivery sites and works with vendors and delivery agents to ensure efficient delivery of products, incentives and other materials. Monitors and manages local inventory tracking. Advises product program manager of product needs.
  • Coordinates regional product program procedures including monitoring and evaluating product program software input, managing staff and volunteer help with software, collecting and managing product program problem reports and following up as required on outstanding reports, information and collections.
  • Ensure Girl Scouting is open and available to all girls and adults by consistent delivery of the Girl Scout message of pluralism and diversity throughout the community.
  • Embrace diversity and inclusiveness by contributing to positive relationships between diverse racial, ethnic, and social groups in the Council as a whole and between employees and volunteers.
  • Respects the confidential nature of all information pertaining to staff, volunteers, and girls.

Education and/or Formal Training 

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

  • Two years of marketing/sales experience desirable.
  • Two years' experience with volunteer management in not-for-profit organization desirable.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, volunteers, customers, and vendors.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills with peers and volunteers.
  • Ability to manage details and make decisions.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with social media.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check acceptable to GSCO standards.
  • Access to registered transportation with insurance at required state levels to conduct business statewide.
  • Valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to the Girl Scout insurance company standards.

MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED 

  • Computer and related software, telephone, e-mail, fax machines, copiers and equipment commonly found in a professional environment.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

  • Variable working schedule including evenings, weekends, and some overnight stays.
  • Able to work from home or remote location with secure internet access.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • May be required to transport Girl Scout materials weighing up to 50 pounds from a vehicle to a building as well as preparing facilities for meetings, with or without assistance.

Salary

  • This position pays a range of $23.08-$26.44/hr
