DESCRIPTION
Amazon Global Supply Chain and Transportation Procurement (GSCTP) is seeking a Procurement & Strategy Manager to work within the Vendor Sourcing and Management team. This role will focus on supporting small to large vendor negotiations through the use of new and existing data analysis tools and will be key to expanding capabilities in advanced modeling and sensitivity analysis. They will directly and indirectly support multiple concurrent negotiations and process improvement activities (internal and external facing) and contribute significantly to the overall execution of transportation and supply chain procurement objectives by: focus on supporting vendor negotiations, support in the development of consistent negotiation methodology, and ensuring alignment with internal stakeholder teams. A successful candidate will be able to enable the delivery on improved financial results, delivery performance, capacity and sustainability efforts.
Key job responsibilities
- Ensuring that vendor relationships and contract components are appropriately measured and areas of non-compliance are quickly identified through an ongoing audit process.
- Ownership of existing KPI’s, supplier and industry analysis activities and other spend and program related reports.
- Delivering actionable insights that will enable the successful execution of the transportation procurement strategy.
- Organizing data and supporting summary of finding in a way that creates compelling business, supplier, and industry insights through the use of story boards and other data visualization methods.
- Data Analysis: Deliver improved service and financial performance through data analysis and data visualization in support of large scale negotiations for service contracts and ongoing contract audit activities and supplier relationship management activities.
- Process Improvements: Deliver results as a key project manager or participant to build a track record of consistently delivering valuable projects.
- Research and Strategies: Use quantitative and qualitative data to articulate a compelling story while uncovering other actionable insights by thinking and looking beyond the immediate ask.
- Delivery: Successfully support the delivery of end-to-end projects, working through the many obstacles along the way with tenacity and appropriate sense of urgency.
- Communication: Write well-reasoned data-driven proposals.
A day in the life
This role will work with large data sets, and supplier contractual terms with varying degrees of complexity. This role will work closely with internal stakeholder teams, across finance, controllership, planning and transportation execution and will also work with external stakeholders in the management of assigned accounts.

About the team
This team is responsible for managing 3rd party relationship with small package delivery suppliers in the export parcel space. The broader org is also responsible for small package delivery suppliers who provide transportation services to Amazon in USA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree
- 2+ years of using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze large sets of data experience
- 2+ years of working cross functionally across several teams experience
- 2+ years of procurement experience
- Bachelor’s or an advanced degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field
- Experience with Tableau and other data visualization tools
