Summary
Manager Sourcing
The Manager Sourcing’s primary role is to support field teams by providing sources of supply. This is achieved by utilizing proprietary tools, attending trade shows, and leveraging external resources. The Manager Sourcing must vet potential suppliers against retailer requirements to ensure recommendations align with business needs and are the best solutions available.
Responsibilities
Provide suppliers for field team requests based on category and supplier expertise, ensuring alignment with retailer/project requirements.
Conduct supplier development activities, including vetting, introductions/spotlights, existing business pitches, and relationship building.
Perform proactive GAP sourcing by identifying and persuading key suppliers to enter new categories or items to meet current marketplace needs.
Collaborate with Client Services, Retained Services, Category and Insights Teams, and Field Teams to assist in selling additional services.
Attend trade shows and provide recaps of trends and supplier options, publishing insights to the enterprise.
Provide commodity insights through ad hoc guidance and monthly commodity briefs using third-party reports and external resources.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct Reports
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities for direct reports.
Indirect Reports
Does not have direct reports but may delegate work to others and provide guidance, direction, and mentoring to indirect reports.
Travel
This position requires travel 3-5 times a year to attend trade shows, which may occasionally include weekend days.
Minimum Qualifications
Education Level:Bachelor’s degree
Experience Requirements:
Years of Experience:At least 5 years of experience working with suppliers, with an understanding of basic manufacturing and supply chain processes.
Environmental & Physical Requirements
Office / Sedentary Requirements:Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically, requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may require the ability to lift up to 10lbs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong relationship-building skills.
Category knowledge for areas of responsibility.
Proficiency in Daymon reporting usage.
Selling skills.
Basic quality assurance process knowledge.
