R-2 Contractors is currently seeking a motivated Horizontal Directional Drilling Operator to join our expanding team. The list of primary responsibilities includes, but is not limited to the following: Ensure appropriate equipment is used as applicable to individual job requirements in the most efficient and effective manner possible. Be safety conscious in all his/her work and behavior and encourage safety in others. Ensure R-2 Contractors and clients’ HSE and Q/A policies and standards are implemented. Apply and ensure the correct application of prescribed safety standards and regulations and JSA’s. Verify proper housekeeping is maintained on the rig site and on the rig itself. Provide direction, support, feedback, and guidance to successfully plan and implement project components. Operate directional drills/locators and similar heavy equipment Perform routine labor (i.e. potholing, equipment set-up, conduit/duct/cable placement) as required Assure that all located utilities in the construction path have been potholed Complete regular maintenance on equipment. Clean, check fluid levels and conduct a visual inspection of vehicle/equipment to assure your vehicle/equipment is performing at optimum safety. Qualifications: Formalized degree/certificate or equivalent technical experience. Knowledge of HDD-specific techniques and specialist tools (including reamers, mud, bits, rigs, etc.) Proficiency in bore planning tools to include HDD-related technology and computer-based software. Critical thinking and problem-solving. Ability to travel 100% of position, as most work is not home-based. R-2 is passionate about cultivating a work environment where our employees feel valued.
