Job Description

Job Title: Fund Accountant

Location: New York, NY (5 Days - On Site)

Company: Leading Hedge Fund

Salary : 100k to 130k

About Us: A leading hedge fund based in New York City, specializing in diverse investment strategies is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Fund Accountant to join their dynamic accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the accounting and financial reporting for hedge fund, FX, and/or commodity portfolios. This role requires a strong understanding of hedge fund accounting, financial instruments, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for hedge fund, FX, and commodity portfolios.
  • Reconcile cash, positions, and market values for all fund accounts.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of fund transactions, including trades, income, expenses, and capital activity.
  • Assist in the preparation of investor reports and respond to investor inquiries.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and service providers to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze fund performance, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Support the implementation of new accounting systems and software as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or CFA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fund accounting, preferably within a hedge fund or asset management firm.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and hedge fund accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
