Department Coordinator - Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology

POSITION

The School of Professional Psychology (SOPP) at Spalding University seeks to hire a full-time department coordinator for our new, innovative MA program in Clinical Psychology. Candidates must have strong organizational and database management skills, as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills.

JOB SUMMARY

The department coordinator will be responsible for supporting faculty and students in the MA program, including maintaining all records and data needed for programmatic functioning and accreditation, and serving as the initial point of contact to the MA program for applicants or the community. A positive attitude and a collaborative spirit will be imperative.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Organize and maintain MA student records
• Maintain data necessary for accreditation and enter it annually in an online portal system
• Serve as the initial point of contact (via phone or email, or in person) for questions from applicants or the community about the MA program
• Serve as administrative support to the Director, Training Director, and faculty of the MA program, and to the department coordinator of the PsyD program
• Attend university and departmental meetings and events as required

SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must possess strong office management skills, i.e. ability to use Microsoft office programs, keep digital files, take meeting minutes, use email, answer the phone, etc.
• Must have strong, warm interpersonal skills
• Must have strong communication skills in both oral and written forms
• Must be equally able to work independently and as part of a team; able to follow directions and make suggestions to program leadership

INTERRELATIONS

• Must have an appreciation and respect for the diverse, intersecting identities of others
• Will have regular or daily contact with administration, faculty, staff, and students
• Will be active on staff counsel in the larger university
• Individual mentoring available for the first year of employment
