What You'll Do:
Review, approve, and process commercial insurance applications, adhering to underwriting guidelines and achieving corporate objectives.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of all commercial products, pricing, and coverages, utilizing available resources to make informed decisions.
Effectively communicate and negotiate with agents, including regular in-person visits to assigned agencies.
Train and support team members, acting as a technical resource and contributing to their professional development.
Efficiently utilize company systems and technology to support overall corporate objectives.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor's Degree, formal Insurance education, or equivalent work experience.
At least 5-8 years of successful Commercial Lines Underwriting experience, including expertise in new agency relationship development.
Associate in Underwriting (AU), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), or similar designation is required.
Ability to perform daily field and occasional overnight travel within the assigned territory (Northeastern Ohio; ideal candidates will reside in the Greater Cleveland or Greater Akron metro areas).
Valid driver's license and adherence to company fleet safety guidelines.
Excellent oral presentation and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills, self-planning abilities, and the capacity to work with minimal supervision.
