We are seeking a Certified Medical Coder and Biller to join our team remotely! Key Responsibilities:
Review and verify patient claims for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with payer requirements, ensuring all relevant details are included.
Assign and sequence medical codes accurately following all government and insurance regulations.
Maintain compliance with current medical coding guidelines, ensuring all policies are met.
Review patient charts and documents, ensuring all information is accurate and complete.
Collaborate with team members to clarify any unclear information, ensuring all staff are on the same page.
Collect and analyze data provided by physicians to prepare monthly coding reports.
Implement strategic procedures for evaluating coding accuracy and making adjustments when necessary.
Analyze medical malpractice cases by examining procedures, diagnoses, or events to identify any issues related to negligence.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in business, finance, health administration, or a related field is preferred.
2+ years of experience in a primary care clinic setting (preferred).
Certified Medical Coder with certification from AAPC or AHIMA (e.g., CPC, CRC, CCS, or CCS-P).
Expertise in ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and CPT (Category II and/or E/M coding).
Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like eCW, EPIC, etc.
Familiarity with MS Office products (Excel, Word, etc.).
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
A team player with excellent emotional intelligence.
Independent thinker capable of making decisions aligned with business objectives.
